"We had to go every Sunday with Nan. I spent most of the time looking for graffiti in the hymn books! On Whitsun Sunday we had new clothes & one year I had a really posh dress with a petticoat attached. We all had to behave and keep everything clean so of course I decided to do tumble overs on the railings in the photo! I managed to get it dirty and tore the petticoat! Lets just say I wasn’t very popular and I hadn’t even done my recitation!"
