Cathy Cheyne. Wareham

P a i n t i n g

"I chose to show my love for my 'home town' by painting a picture in pen, ink and finished in acrylic. This is a picture is of Wareham Quay, Wareham, Dorset. Wareham is in the Isle of Purbeck and I live only a short drive, or bus ride from the centre of Wareham Town. The painting is of local children jumping off the bridge into the river Frome. Children have done this for as long as there has been a bridge and local families and holiday makers picnic on the banks of the river. It is a beautiful spot and encompases the feeling that can be found in many of the river and beach spots in the area. My grandson is depicted to the right of the picture so this painting holds a special place in my heart."
